Scripps Memorial Hospital 5th Floor Renovation
This project involved the complete demolition and conversion of approximately 9,933 SF of a High Visibility ICU nursing unit and PCU nursing unit. Work included demolition, saw cutting, structural supports, custom cabinetry, metal stud framing and drywall, acoustic ceilings, painting, wall protection, ceramic tile, doors/frames/hardware, floor coverings, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, med-gas, nurse call, voice/data cabling, access control devices and cabling, fire alarm, and fire sprinkler work. The work also included a new Negative Pressure Isolation Room with newly-installed, dedicated, custom air handling unit and exhaust fan located two levels above on the West Tower roof. This portion of the work required the installation of a new mechanical shaft through the 6th and 7th floors under occupied conditions; complete with saw cutting, structural reinforcing members, and drywall shaft.
