Hillel San Diego
This project involved the ground-up construction of the 6,500 SF Beverly and Joseph Glickman Hillel Center. The scope of work included the construction of three distinct buildings, site grading, and utility installation. A carefully designed courtyard with decorative concrete finishes provides a welcoming space for gathering, while the installation of multi-occupant restrooms, a specialized “Shabbat” kitchen, and an elevator ensures accessibility and customized functionality for all visitors. Architectural elements included supplemental steel “butterfly” roofs for a striking visual appearance. Advanced glass windows and doors include blast-resistant film for durability. The use of Jerusalem stone throughout the design reflects the cultural significance of this space. The project featured meticulously planned landscaping and carport structures. The center will be a vibrant hub for Jewish learning, holiday experiences, and community activities, fostering cultural engagement and connection.
