Portside Pier
This project consisted of a 25,000 SF two-story steel framed building on top of a new concrete pier and piles over the San Diego Bay. The building includes three commercial kitchens and five separate restaurants spaces. Key components of the project include a curved barrel roof, two curved feature stairs, custom glass basket structures, extensive use of open ceilings, and intricate millwork components. BIM modeling was used to coordinate MEP trades in the limited available ceiling space and open ceiling area. The building houses the Brigantine Restaurant, Miguel’s Cucina, Ketch Grill & Taps and Portside Coffee and Gelato.
