San Diego Zoo- Wildlife Explorers Basecamp

Project consisted of the complete demolition of the existing Children’s Exhibit and the construction of a new state of the art Wildlife Explorers Basecamp. The new 3 acre experience was created by the construction of various ground-up structures, dining and educational facilities, entertainment and fascinating children’s interactive playgrounds and plaza areas. The construction aspects included multiple animal exhibits, each involving different ecosystems and Life Supporting Systems. Along with many site upgrades, our scope also included a waterpark feature, allowing for communal play amongst various species. Site improvements also included renovations to the existing bathroom, a new human sized dryer, and upgrades to the Skyfari loading areas.
